It'd be nice if I had something good to show you guys, but instead you get a redone version of one of my old pics. Let's hear it for digital color remastery! I'm not sure whether to send the original to my Scrapbook.
The experimental procedure for today (or rather, the final night I worked on this) was to use multiply and screen versions of the lineart layer to get both light and dark edges on the emeralds, as they looked even less convincing when all the edges were dark. Would have worked better if I had tighter lines in the first place, though.
I think I'd better stop the self-evaluation here before it turns into an Awkward Zombie-style self-deprecation rant. No that was not a personal attack YOU SET AN EXAMPLE FOR US ALL MISS TIEDRICH I STILL LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR COMICS!
